Family counselling
For families where communication with a teenager has broken down, sibling tension is rising or a big change is under way.

Meeting family members together and separately when needed, we rebuild the communication, rules and roles at home together.
In family counselling the problem is usually described through one person: "Our son doesn’t talk", "Our daughter is always angry." We talk not about one person but about the pattern the family builds together.
Who comes?
Parents usually come to the first meeting. Then we see the teenager separately, and if possible we meet the whole family. Siblings, grandparents or anyone else living in the same home can join the process when needed.
Confidentiality with teenagers
We do not pass on to parents what a teenager tells us in their own sessions; the only exception is a situation that puts the teenager’s or someone else’s safety at risk. We discuss this rule openly in front of everyone in the first family session.
How long does it take? Usually 6–12 sessions; we decide together at the review.
Who is it for?
- Families who feel communication with their teenager has broken down
- When sibling conflict is wearing the household down
- Big changes such as moving, a new baby, loss or illness
- Extended families where boundaries with grandparents have blurred
- Blended families after remarriage
When might it not be the right fit?
- A child or teenager has severe psychological symptoms: a child and adolescent psychiatry assessment is recommended first
- There is ongoing violence or a suspicion of abuse in the family
If this applies to you, let’s talk openly on the first call; we will point you to the right place. In an emergency, call 112 (the emergency number in Türkiye).
How does the process unfold?
The blue and plum lines stand for the two partners: rows where they run side by side are joint sessions, rows where they part are separate sessions.
