Relationship-focused individual sessions
For people whose partner won’t come, who are recovering after a breakup, or who notice the same pattern in their relationships.

When you want to talk about your relationship on your own: your part, your boundaries, a decision, or recovering after a loss.
Two people cannot always come together. Your partner may be wary of therapy, the relationship may have just ended, or you may want to think on your own first. These sessions are held with you alone, but the subject is your relationship.
What is talked about?
Recurring patterns in your relationships, what you bring from your own family history, the places where you find it hard to set boundaries, grieving a breakup, or the dilemma before a decision. We draw on cognitive behavioural and schema-focused approaches.
Moving on to couples therapy
If your partner also wants to come while individual sessions continue, we will consider moving on to couples therapy together. To keep neutrality, the couples process is usually led by our other therapist.
How long does it take? Length varies; we review together after the first four sessions.
Who is it for?
- People whose partner does not want to come to therapy
- People recovering after a breakup or divorce
- People who notice they repeat the same pattern in relationships
- People who want space to think before a relationship decision
When might it not be the right fit?
- Periods when clinical conditions such as severe depression, suicidal thoughts or eating disorders come to the fore: a psychiatric assessment is recommended first
If this applies to you, let’s talk openly on the first call; we will point you to the right place. In an emergency, call 112 (the emergency number in Türkiye).
How does the process unfold?
The blue and plum lines stand for the two partners: rows where they run side by side are joint sessions, rows where they part are separate sessions.
